Turbo Rory: Optima Racing's Rory Atkins, right, collects his prize
Optima Racing team’s Rory Atkins won the first of three 26.5km Thames Turbo Sprint Series triathlons in Hampton on Monday.
Atkins, pictured above, was the fastest man over the course – which started at Hampton Open Air Pool and finished at Bushy Park – clocking 56 minutes, 14 seconds.
Vicky Gill was the first woman to cross the line, with a time of 1.04:36. The Thames Turbo novice course is running from Saturday, April 21, until Monday, June 4. The course is aimed at triathlon beginners. For information visit thamesturbo.com/sen ior-events/novice-course
