Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash between a large lorry and a cyclist.

The accident took place in Vicarage Crescent, in Battersea, at around 3.30pm on March 13 and a 37 year-old woman was seriously injured.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a truck on Vicarage Crescent.

"We sent an ambulance crew and two singles responders in cars and London air ambulance to the scene.

"Our staff treated one patient, a woman believed to be in her 30s, who had suffered leg injuries.

"She was given pain relief at the scene and taken as a priority to St George’s Hospital.

"She was taken by road ambulance accompanied by a doctor from an air ambulance."

It is understood the cyclist is still being treated at the hospital.
