Outgoing Croydon Health Services NHS chief executive Nick Hulme is leaving to take up a position at a neighbouring health authority.

Secrecy and speculation has surrounded the whereabouts of Mr Hulme after he went on leave on January 31, but in reality the former boss has just changed jobs.

Mr Hulme resigned from his position this morning following almost a month of silence, during which the Leader of Croydon Council Coun Mike Fisher made a public statement promising to look after the well-being of patients and staff associated with the Trust.

He is set to do project based work for Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in East London.
