Animal rescue teams had a pleasant surprise when a skinned cat hanging from a tree turned out to be a scarf.
Worried residents phoned the RSCPA to report what they thought was a dead animal in Kirkstall Road, Streatham Hill.
But when inspector Becky London (pictured) arrived at the scene, she discovered the object was in fact a fur shrug.
She said: “I was relieved it was not a cat, but it is nice to show people we take these reports seriously and will always go out to investigate when we suspect an animal has suffered.”
