A councillor with more than 30 years experience has been earmarked to be the borough’s next Mayor.
Coun Eddy Arram was nominated to succeed Coun Graham Bass in the role by the Mayoralty & Honorary Freedom Selection Sub-Committee on Monday January 30.
Coun Arram, who represents Ashburton Ward, was first elected to the council in 1981.
Deputy to Sara Bashford, cabinet member for culture and sport, Coun Arram has held numerous positions including chairman of the library, museum and arts committee and serving on the housing, social services and planning sub-committees.
A final decision on the next mayor of Croydon will be made later this year.
