Cyclists are to be given a lorry driver’s eye view as part of a safety campaign.

Croydon council officers will be in North End on Monday January 30 hosting the event offering cyclists the chance to get behind the wheel of a Heavy Goods Vehicle.

Traffic police officers will also be on hand, offering advice on how to stay safe on London’s ever-busy roads, and to mark bicycles with a view to deterring thieves from stealing the bikes.

The session is funded by the Mayor of London’s Biking Boroughs initiative.

Croydon was one of 13 boroughs awarded Biking Borough status in 2010, with each receiving funding to develop a local strategy to increase cycling opportunities and improve facilities. Each Biking Borough pledged to put cycling at the heart of its local transport delivery plans.
