A local community group is organising an 'old-time music hall event' in a bid to raise cash for an animal charity in Colliers Wood.
The event is being organised by Merton Old Time Variety Group and will take place from 7.30pm on August 5 at the New Horizon Centre in South Lodge Avenue, Mitcham.
It will include performances from amateur singers, dancers and comedians from the local community, and there will also be a bar serving refreshments.
All proceeds raised from tickets sales will be donated to Blue Cross, which has a hospital in Colliers Wood providing charitable veterinary treatment if owners cannot afford it.
Jane Austen, a member of Merton Old Time Variety Group, said: "We are hoping to raise £500, but obviously more would be even better. This money is going to a great cause, and everything we raise on the night will be donated to Blue Cross. The show will include a performance from a belly dancer, some really funny comedy sketches and there will also be a stall serving up traditional pie and mash."
Tickets cost £8.00. To find out more and to book a ticket call Wendy Walker, director of the group on 0208 241 0049.
