Molesey completed their run of three home games in a row with the visit of Banstead Athletic looking to make it three wins out of three for the period and putting Molesey right back in the title race.

Molesey, as they have done for the previous three games, dominated from the get go and went off in search of an early goal to open up the match and allow them the space to play their one touch, fast football.

And Molesey found the breakthrough with just eight minutes on the clock when the Moles won a corner that was whipped in by Ashley Lodge, the ball bounced out to the edge of the box where Ian Lishmund scuffed a volley into the ground, however the ball bounced up and Darius Heravi was in the perfect position to score a looping header over Gavin Dilley in the Banstead net.

Molesey never looked back from this moment and proceeded to dominate the entire game.

Molesey next chance came after a quarter of an hour when Lewis Ackerman found himself rushing toward goal and, seeing the 'keeper off his line, tried a lob from distance that ended up hitting the roof of the net and bouncing harmlessly over..

Molesey doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Rob Lewis managed to pick out a pass along the ground which found its way all the way up to Darius Heravi who scampered clear of the defense and calmly chipped the on rushing 'keeper in the one on one situation to put Molesey into a dominant position.

Molesey had gone in at half time 2-0 up in their previous three games but the feat was not to be repeated when Molesey got a third goal just two minutes after the second.

Another half cleared corner came out to Ashley Lodge who dinked a great ball into the box which was nodded down by Rob Lewis and James McShane was at the right place at the right time to poke the ball into the corner of the net and give the Moles the lead they deserved at half time Heravi had one last chance before half time to complete the hat trick but his run was ended when he hit a shot that was saved by the 'keepers legs.

In the past few games Molesey have been known to come out for the second half comfortable with their lead and not really try to improve it, however today Molesey were in unstoppable form.

Just seven minutes after the restart Darius Heravi completed his hat trick when after a great one touch passing movement started right at the back with Rob Lewis and ended up with Lewis Ackerman sending Heravi through, and the Moles front man made no mistake in firing the ball hard and low into the goal.

Molesey scored their last goal of the game on the hour mark when Sam Lampard battled hard on the edge of the box and eventually got the ball through to Ian Lishmund who made no mistake from the tight angle in dscoring the Moles fifth goal of the game.

Three minutes later Banstead had their only chance when Matt Harmsworth fired well over when well placed.

There was time at the end for Doug Ford and James McShane to both have efforts tipped over the bar and Ashley Lodge to put the ball narrowly wide from a tight angle before the referee called halt to the game.

The Moles now find themselves just four points off of the top spot and will be looking to keep their impressive form going to secure a return to the Ryman league.

Their next game is away to Croydon on Saturday which will be made trickier by the absence of both midfield play maker James McShane and defensive power house Moses Spencer.
