It was recently the time of year for our favourite TV show, Children In Need. Everyone plays their part, and Blenheim High School promoted this throughout the week.

For the week of the 19th November, there were various activities held to raise as much money as possible for Children In Need.

A ‘design a Pudsey’ competition took place everyday, raising at least £20 alone. It was £1 to enter and it gave the lower school a chance to redesign our very own Pudsey bear. The winning design then got put forward to the textiles department to be made into a real teddy bear to sit at the school reception. There were also scratch cards and stickers being sold all week raising even more money. But the defining event that never fails to raise a substantial amount of money is the cake sale. A group of year twelve students including myself baked a large proportion of the cakes ourselves and sold them on the Friday of Children In Need.

There was an immense amount of effort and time given by the students of the school to raise money for Children In Need. The final sum raised by the school amounted to an amazing £312.19p which will be added to the final total for Children In Need and help to change a child’s future, whether it’s an outing for a disadvantaged child, help and relief for a young carer or support for a misguided child.
