X Factor evictee Jamie “Afro” Archer told fans in McClusky’s Kingston he remembered travelling to the club on the 85 bus before being selected as a finalist on the show.

The Putney star told clubbers Kingston was a big part of his life and mentioned his love of the Bentall Centre, which went down well with the crowd.

Girls were spotted screaming for the 34-year-old and went wild, grabbing his afro when he shoved it into the crowd during his performance on Saturday night.

DJ Rob Tillen, who grabbed the X Factor finalist for a quick question and answer session on stage, said: “Jamie was absolutely awesome. I’ve never known so many people to shout so loud. It was just incredible.

“Some artists are just born to perform. He looked so comfortable on the stage. He’s a real rocker isn’t he?”

Jamie said his voice was starting to go, from gigging so much but, according to the DJ, you could not tell.

The singer tipped his “really good friend” Olly to win the show, although he only narrowly escaped the axe after a sing-off with John and Edward on Sunday.

The Irish twins will perform at the club on Saturday and are expected to cause a storm after the media attention they have amassed from getting so far in the contest.
