A successful Surbiton businessman has turned his entrepreneurial eye to a product dismissed by the millionaires on BBC2’s Dragons’ Den.
Ben McElligott decided to invest in the Bottle Buddy after the ruthless dragons rejected it and orders are now flying in from across the UK and overseas.
Bottle Buddy is the world’s first electronic baby formula counter, invented by a sleepy dad who kept miscounting formula scoops while trying to comfort his crying, hungry two-month-old daughter.
The inventor is in fact Ben’s cousin Alan and both believe it will make a great Christmas present, while also fighting health hazards involved with bottle feeding.
Miscalculating the amount of formula put into a baby’s bottle can result in colic, obesity, dehydration and undernourishment, according to the British Medical Journal.
