A UFO has allegedly been caught on camera hovering mysteriously over St George’s Hospital, according to a resident.

The grainy footage was shot by sci-fi enthusiast Mark McConnell, who has been watching the skies for strange objects for 30 years.

He said the triangular object had three lights with a dull glow, but was too large and moving too slowly to be an aeroplane.

The 42-year-old television editor said: “I have been looking in the sky for so long. I initially thought it was retina burn, but then I saw the lights were inside the silhouette of a triangle.

“My mind did a flip and I thought: ‘I’m seeing a UFO’.”

He claimed the object appeared on Friday, August 14, at about 11.50pm, about 200 ft above the hospital in Tooting - before moving across towards Streatham.

Luckily Mr McConnell had his camera and began filming, but the footage is so dark it is difficult to make anything out.

The news comes after several sightings of an orange light hovering over Tooting, Battersea and Furzedown.

According to experts, UFOs are often attracted to historic sites like Tooting, which dates back to Saxon times.

Others have speculated that the strange ships are operated by foreign secret services.

Mr McConnell added: “Whether it was driven by Brad from Texas or Zog from Planet Zog, I don’t know.

“I’m not trying to make anybody believe what I saw. I know what I saw, and it was quite a pleasure to encounter it.”
