Police appeal for witness to Fulham man's murder outside Wandsworth Prison


Detectives investigating a murder outside Wandsworth Prison are appealing for a woman witness to come forward.

Darcy Austin-Bruce, 20, from Fulham, died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest when he was killed on Friday, May 1, at 2.30pm.

Two men wearing crash helmets were seen running away from the scene of the attack towards Alma Terrace after a series of gunshots were heard.

Officers from Operation Trident, which investigates gun crime in black communities, are investigating the shooting.

A police spokesman said detectives were keen to speak to a woman who spoke to Wandsworth police.

Detective chief inspector, Gordon Allison, said: “I urge this woman to get in touch and assure her that her call will be treated as confidential.”

Mr Austin-Bruce, of Fulham, was on his way into the prison to visit an inmate when he was killed.

Six men, aged 19, 22, 26, 27, 27 and 31, have been arrested and bailed.

Police said they were keeping an open mind as to a motive.
