Earlsfield residents are invited to a meeting at St Andrew’s Church in Garratt Lane this weekend to see how their green space will be transformed into a community garden for everyone to enjoy.
Thirteen Kew Gardens students have submitted designs for the church’s south garden and the winner will be announced at 11.15am on Saturday March 7.
It is hoped the design will rejuvenate the area by providing an inspiring environment which can be used by community residents, their families and church members.
The planting and wildlife areas will also provide gardening facilities for local children, disabled people and those who have no garden of their own.
Sally Furniss, who has helped organise the project, said: “The garden will be such an important source to the local community. I would say to any local residents who are interested to come down, see the designs, and find out how they can be involved in this ongoing and long needed addition to our community.”
