Police are appealing for the public’s help after seven lone women in Battersea were choked and left unconscious before being robbed.
All the women were travelling alone, late at night, when they were attacked.
Detective Inspector Andy Gallagher, of Wandsworth Police, said the attacks were calculated to take place at pub closing times - and that the attackers chose specific victims.
He said: “They pick lone women after the pubs have closed.
“They attack from behind, so that getting a description is hard, and then strangle the victims until they are unconscious. When they wake they find they have been robbed of their property.”
All of the attacks have all taken place in the area around Battersea Bridge Road, Lomdard Road and Westbridge Road.
DI Gallagher added: “I am urging anyone with information to come forward. Perhaps you saw a robbery, or perhaps you are a women who has been attacked, but were afraid to come forward.”
Anyone with information should contact the Priority Crime Unit at Wandsworth on 020 8247 8871 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
