A teenage boy has undergone corrective surgery after being attacked on Friday night by a gang of youths.

The 15-year-old had been waiting for a friend outside the Nisa Local store, in Staines Road, Feltham, when a group of about 10 youths in hooded tops approached him at 10.15pm.

Spotting his mobile in his hand, one of the gang snatched the phone and ran off into Natalie Close.

The victim gave chase and caught up with the teen but was knocked to the ground after being punched in the face.

He hit his head as he fell to the ground and was then kicked in the left side of the head by the robber who fled with the group along Staines Road towards the Clockhouse roundabout.

The victim had surgery at West Middlesex Hospital for a double fracture to his jaw.

His attacker is described as white, about 16 years old and of small build. He was 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a cream hooded jumper with the hood up.

Detective Inspector Alan Holford said: “The attack was completely unprovoked and could have had serious consequences.”

He added: “The appeal is open to those that were in the group of 10 who may not have participated yet feel what others in the group did was deplorable and unwarranted.”

Anyone with information should call Hounslow CID on 020 8247 5940 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
