Merit mark for school

A SCHOOL has been awarded the Basic Skills Quality Mark for achieving high standards in reading, writing, spelling and number work.

Reena Keeble, headteacher of Cannon Lane First School in Cannonbury Avenue, Pinner, said: "It is very nice to know that our hard work is not only recognised, but meets such high standards nationally."

Director of the Basic Skills Agency, Alan Wells OBE, will make a formal presentation to the school in March.
