LIMITS on outdoor activities in the LakeDistrict because of the foot-and-mouth disease means that swimming isbecoming an even more popular choice of exercise atpresent.
Troutbeck Bridge pool is offering the chance to swim,and do it in a good cause, by taking part in the national BT Swimathonevent taking place between March 19-25.
Exclusive BT Swimathonsessions for local swimmers will be arranged during the course of the weekwith sponsorship raising cash towards a family of cancercharities.
Sue Trott of Troutbeck Bridge said:"BT Swimathon issomething that anyone of any age can take part in and it is also a greatopportunity to get into shape."
The challenge is to swimeither 1,500m, 2,500m or 5,000m - individually or as part of a team of upto five people with friends and colleagues pledging sponsorship money tocomplete the course.
To enter BT Swimathon 2001, log on to theofficial website (www.byswimathon.com) or call the freefone hotline (0800731 7316) and signs up for one of three sessions that the pool inarranging.
Alternatively, pick up an entry form from thereception at Troutbeck Bridge pool.
