A brothel thought to have earned at least £100,000 a year has been raided by police.

An investigation has also been launched by Met Police and HM Revenue and Customs into a 34-year-old woman from Twickenham, who is believed to have run the massage parlour at 91 London Road, Staines - known locally as the Green Door.'

The woman is also suspected of fraudulently claiming tens of thousands of pounds in job seekers' allowance and income support from the Department for Work and Pensions.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "The only arrests were made by Surrey Police around the brothel issue.

"Everything else is related to an ongoing investigation."

Surveillance was carried out at both the London Road address, which was advertised on the internet as Lets play night and day,' and the woman's home in Twickenham.

Two warrants were then obtained from Feltham Magistrates' Court and both addresses were raided on July 7.

The Twickenham woman along with a 54-year-old receptionist were both arrested during the raid and have been bailed to attend Staines police station at a future date.
