Seven south west London beauties have lost in their bid to be crowned Miss Surrey.

The seven, who included a Kingston student, a Staines solo ice dancing champion and a Carshalton jazz dancer lost out in the competition's final yesterday.

Instead Chloe Marshall, 16, from Guildford made history by becoming the first size 16 model to be selected for the Miss England contestant.

The beauty therapy student who picked up the Miss Surrey crown and will be now battling to win the national title said she wanted to break the stereotype that models have to be tall and skinny.

The Miss Surrey final was held at at Champneys Forest Mere, a Hampshire health resort.

The final 10 were photographed and interviewed in their own keep fit outfit and daywear.

According to the competition's organisers the judges were looking for confidence, beauty and personality.

hard to believe a size 16 is considered big or plus size. she has boobs, curves, like a woman, a woman isn't suppose to be a size 10, flat chested, and shaped like a boy. marilyn monroe would be considered a plus size these days but she was more woman than kate moss! i'm sure more men dream of marilyn than moss. a size 16 is a mere size 12 in the usa and that's considered heathly. as long as you are shaped right in the right places and have a little tummy, a size 16 isn't at all plus size really. it's called beautiful. one must consider height and shape, not just dress size, for what looks good. bones sticking out and ribs showing through flat chests aren't pretty.

I saw the other girls in this competition and Chloe was the best by far. Some girl wanting to be a **** model and another arching her back to show off her lack of chest is a joke. Not to be horrible, but the other girls were extremely unattractive. Is this the best England can do? England isn't known for it's beauties (more known for teen pregancy, unglamour "models" where the face is inmaterial, and girls who are boozers), that's a given, but good grief. Saying that, Chloe is very pretty and has some shape and deserves the win. Well done and good luck!

Size 16 is overweight, she'is very pretty but i'm sorry size 16 is not surely un healty size for a teenager.
She's not fit at all.
Only large people can say that she's not big.
Have you seen the size of her legs??she will have lot of blood circulation problems soon and as soon she will have a child she will became obese.
Saying that she's very pretty, large pretty girl!

in response to Mrs Uptons comment "a woman isn't suppose to be a size 10, flat chested, and shaped like a boy." people can't help the way they are shaped, plus size people may dislike their bodies but the size 10, flat chested boy shape bodies you talk about may also dislike their figures and want to put on weight in the right places but they can't. Just because somebody is a size 10 it doesn't mean they are happy with their body. These days you've either got to be UK size 6 or below or UK size 14 + to be a model what about the people in-between!? You an't help the way you were born so just make the most of what you've got and quit complaining!
