Molesey 2 Horsham YMCA 2

Molesey were yet again made to pay from a set piece in the final minute, which cost Molesey another two points.

Moles boss Steve Webb called this game and the previous match versus Whitstable as "four points dropped" as again Moles fans went home frustrated after seeing their side fail to keep out their opposition in the final minutes.

The game began well for the Moles as for the opening 10 minutes Molesey played good football with Matt Jordan hitting a long-range effort over the bar, then Ben Beswick forced Horsham keeper Ken Westoby into a talented double save, with two more efforts from distance.

Then on the 19th minute, Molesey striker Julian Phillips had a close range volley saved well by Westoby and unfortnately there was no Molesey player on hand for the follow-up.

However against the run of play, Horsham opened the scoring when a long free kick in the 22nd minute, which found a Horsham striker completely free in the Molesey box and he finished well, chipping it over the on rushing Jon Ashwood.

The rest of the half became scrappy, but Shane Franklin playing at centre-half reacted well to slide in and clear the ball off of the line.

Molesey made a change during the half-time interval Grant Keywood was replaced by Jamie Findlay, who made his debut.

On the 55th minute, Molesey striker Luke Edghill was left thinking it wasn't his day, as first Westoby saved his volley leading to a corner. From this corner there was a scramble which led to a second corner.

Edghill was found by the second cross and somehow his header was saved by Westoby's feet.

Molesey however found a breakthrough on the 65th minute when as Phillips was holding the ball up, he was challenged and the ball fell to Chico Kadzombe who let it bounce once before hitting an arrow of a volley into the top right hand corner of the net, leaving the in-form Westoby no chance of saving.

Molesey began pressing the advantage looking to take another chance and gain their first home win of the season.

Moles made two changes too aid the search for a winner. Ben Beswick and Luke Edghill were replaced by Matt Fowler and Andy Davidson.

It was Davidsons first touch which brought Molesey into the lead.

Jamie Findlay fired in a whipped free-kick in the 89th minute that Davidson was on hand to touch past the keeper.

Moles fans erupted with cheers for what seemed to be the winner.

But like the previous Saturday, it was not to be.

In the second and final minute of injury time Ashwood made a good save giving Horsham a corner.

It was swung in and Christian Gainet was in the right place at the right time to nod it past Ashwood into the roof of the net.
