The case against a man charged with murdering a 16-year-old youth from Streatham has been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service because of insufficient evidence.
Abukar Mahamud, who lived on the Tulse Hill Estate, was killed by a gunshot wound to the neck at the Stockwell Gardens Estate in July.
David Taitt, 20, of Cassell House, Stockwell, south London, was due to appear at the Old Bailey on 1 November.
The inquiry by the Metropolitan Police's Operation Trident team, which investigates gun crime in the black community, will continue.
