A park in Richmond has been given a facelift, with a play train.

The installation in Mortlake Green is the final part of an improvement project to enhance and increase play provision on the park.

The six-metre green play train includes a slide, crawl spaces, stairs and climbing features. It is part of the Council’s continued commitment to improving the much-loved parks and open spaces across the borough.

Cllr Martin Elengorn, Cabinet Member for Environment, Planning and Sustainability said:“This is will be a great addition to Mortlake Green and will hopefully attract more families to the area to enjoy the outdoor space.

The design of the play train is based on the London and South Western Railway Locomotive 245 which was built in 1897.
