The lead singer of a local band has offered to donate half of his latest single sales to help a couple continue to investigate the cat killer.

Boudicca Rising and Tony Jenkins, members of South Norwood Animal Rescue Liberty, have been investigating the killing of hundreds of cats since 2015.

However, the pair admit they are “desperately low on funding” meaning the future of their investigation may be in doubt.

Operation Takahe was launched three years ago by the Met Police to work alongside SNARL to catch the culprit.

Rob Todd, of the band Don’t Wake The Lion, will donate 49 per cent of sales from his band's new single The Last Time My Heart Was Alive to help bring justice.

He told News Shopper: “I have watched with interest the work that SNARL do and have been really impressed with their dedication and purpose.

“I felt that I’d like to help in some way and the only thing I have at my disposal is my music. The band were releasing our new single and we decided to dedicate half of any profits to this very worthy organisation.”

In response to the gesture, Ms Rising said: “We are absolutely thrilled with Don't Wake The Lion's generous gesture to help us find the UK animal killer.

“At the moment, we need every bit of help we can get and we are very grateful. It's an absolutely beautiful song and worth buying for that reason alone.”
