Richmond RUNFEST is gearing up for its sixth year and this year runners will be able to take part in the new Richmond 5 KM: Pirate Run.

The pirate run will take place on Saturday, September 15, with runners able to take an action packed journey round the Old Deer Park.

The two-day festival takes place on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16. Over 8,000 runners will lace up for the weekend’s races.

Saturday, September 15 sees London’s flattest 10 KM, running inside the Royal Botanic Gardens with views of the newly restored Temporate House.

Sunday, September 16 will see runners take on the half and full marathon through Kew Gardens, Ham House and Hampton Court Palace.

The family mile takes place in the Old Deer Park at 2pm on Sunday. It is a fun run for children over five and their families.

Jade Bedford, Assistant Race Director says: “With Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity announced as headline charity partner, we cannot wait to transform our race into J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan; it’ll be a magical weekend for all involved. Every runner will receive their hidden treasure medal at the finish line to remain ever young!

“We take great pride in the design of our medals; this year we’re treating our runners to an exclusive purple and gold, Peter Pan inspired design.”
