The man behind a new tutoring service is promising that it will be different to anything seen before.

Akaash Phakey set up 'InTuition Croydon ' with the hope that it would revolutionise the industry.

"Across Croydon and Sutton, a lot of tuition centres have opened up, and are frankly, taking the industry for easy money, whilst delivering a substandard service for their students," he said.

"Emphasis is really not on the quality of tuition, and is generally on the money that one can make from it.

"With this, comes a lack of transparency."

To counteract this, he said his GCSE and A Level maths service will offer a "transparent and affordable" place to learn.

"All of our students gain exclusive access to our online resources, which include extra questions, cheat sheets, revision guides etc.

"All of our lesson plans and homework packs are made from scratch and our lessons are recorded in case a student misses one, or wants to revisit something a tutor mentioned."

Although classes of eight people will regularly cost £18/hour, Mr Phakey said they are letting parents try before they buy.

"We're starting our tuition from September 22 and are in our student acquisition period now," he said.

"For parents who may be considering our tuition service, we are offering a free class for them to experience what we provide and to meet in person."

The lessons will be run out of Wallington County Grammar School.
