Surrey Police have urged people to lock their windows and keep valuables in a safe.
This comes after they charged a man in connection to a burglary in Caterham.
James Hodge-Reid, 32 of Vanguard Close, Canning Town, London has been charged by police and is due to appear in Guildford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 14.
As well as locking your doors, police said people should register their valuables on the website Immobilise and mark belongings with a forensic marking kit such as SelectaDNA spray or Smart Water.
