A cyclist is fighting for his life following a hit and run near South Wimbledon station.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 5.49pm yesterday to reports of a crash between a car and cyclist in Pincott Road, near the junction with High Path Road.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a cyclist with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, which is described as being dark grey in colour, failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist, aged in his 20s, was taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Enquiries are on-going to trace the driver of the car.
