Detectives are investigating new information which could help solve the mystery of a Cheam schoolboy who disappeared from Sutton High Street almost 30 years ago.
Lee Boxell, 15, was last seen on September 10, 1988, when he was believed to be on his way to a football match at Selhurst Park in Croydon.
Now nearly three decades on, investigators are looking into a fresh clue which could reveal what happened to the teenager.
On August 4, a Met Police spokesman said: “On the basis of new information coming to light, officers are pursuing a new line of enquiry.”

His dad Peter Boxell was one of a dozen singers who sang for the Missing People Choir in the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent last June.
The moving tribute, “I Miss You”, was performed in a bid to raise money for the charity and bring awareness to their efforts.
They would reach the final before pianist Tokio Myers would win the competition overall.
Lee was last seen in Sutton High Street after he reportedly told a friend he was going to see a match at Selhurst Park.
But his parents don’t know what has happened to their son since he went missing that day almost 30 years ago.
Now detectives at Scotland Yard are pursuing a new line of inquiry as fresh information comes to light in the cold case.
