Annette Wise passed away in January 2018 following a battle with multiple sclerosis.

She was diagnosed with MS shortly after the birth of her third child, but her determination and passion for dance helped her carry-on teaching until 2013.

Annette has lived in Mitcham and operates dance schools across Merton and Wandsworth.

Her husband Brian said: “She has been dedicated to dance from an early age, when she was put into dance classes at the age of four. She gained her dancing exams in ballet and tap with the Royal Academy and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

“She decided to start her own dance school, Annette Wise Dance Centre, after the birth of her first child. She has taught people like Simon Cooper and Adam Cooper, who was most renowned for being a principle dancer in the Royal Ballet.

“She also taught her son, Stefan, who was awarded with a scholarship to the Arts Education School and later trained with the Royal Ballet School.”

In 2012 Annette was awarded with a lifetime membership at the Royal Academy of Dance, for her commitment and dedication to the academy. Brian described her as a much loved and talented person who will be greatly missed.
