Epsom Downs Primary School welcomed Superschools to their campus earlier this month.

Superschools has been running since the 70s and has attended thousands of schools to reach out to children and engage them into living a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Freerider Grant Fielder represent Superschools at Epsom Downs Primary. Each child had the chance to meet Grant and get a photograph with the former world champion.

The children were led through several exercises that were laid out in the hall. This was followed by Grant performing some BMX tricks. This included ‘mind-blowing’ tricks such as 360s, tail whips and backflips.

The money raised from the event will go towards news sports equipment for the school. This will provide students a better sporting platform.

Lewis Still, SLT and PE Coordinator at Epsom Downs School said: “It was a real coup to get someone with Grant's ability into our school and it was amazing to see how the children reacted to him.

“The get active sessions in the morning were engaging and children responded well to these. Over 400 children were hooked on Grant's riding and when he performed his tricks they were all inspired to pick up their bikes and get active!”
