After a year of intensive rehearsals, 100 children and adults will be on stage next week at the Epsom Playhouse for a dance, drama and singing recital.

Lucie Benson School of Dance’s biennial show will be taking over the playhouse from Thursday, July 26 to Saturday, July 28.

The show ‘This is Us’ will feature a range of different acts and emotional ballet commemorating the centenary of the First World War.

With dancers from across all age groups, the ballet is choreographed to ‘A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys’ and tells the story of a boy growing up and leaving his beloved family to fight for his country.

Vanessa Lucie, principal of the Lucie Benson School of Dance, said: "I am incredibly proud of the achievements of the boys and girls at Lucie Benson School of Dance and can’t wait to share the last 12 months of hard work with our audience at the Epsom Playhouse.

“I am so proud of watching the children work together as a team, have fun learning new routines and celebrate each other’s achievements however big or small.

“We really are a family affair, with many of parents, grandparents and ex-pupils helping us to make and alter costumes and chaperone the children. The show really wouldn’t go on without their help and support!”
