The High Sheriff of Surrey has opened the redesigned garden at Headway Surrey on North Road in Guildford, which has just been revamped to allow brain injured patients to relax.

The High Sheriff, Mr Jim Glover, was there to cut the ribbon and officially open the new £1,000 garden financed by the Christim Beck Community Fund.

The newly designed and refurbished garden, which Headway Surrey are now looking to recruit a volunteer gardener to maintain, will allow brain injured clients to rest and take time out in a tranquil environment.

People with brain injuries often experience sensory overload in daily life and in a classroom setting, so the peace of the garden will enable them to relax, reduce agitation and frustration.
