Two arrests have been made following a string of moped related crimes that occurred in Epsom on Sunday and Monday.

Surrey Police are investigating a number of offences, including public order, robbery and theft of a moped, believed to have involved moped riders.

These incidents occurred between 6pm on Sunday (July 8) and 7am yesterday (July 9) in London Road, Middleton Road, Winters Close and Bradstock Road.

Epsom and Ewell Neighbourhood Inspector Joe Easterbrook said:

“We understand that crimes involving moped riders will cause alarm, considering the media attention such incidents have gained in recent months, as well as the direct impact it has on our communities.

“However the positive news is we have made two arrests and are carrying out further enquiries to locate others we believe may have been involved. What I would say is that we still need to hear from anyone who has any information about these incidents. Please call 101 and quote the reference number PR/45180072807 if you have any information.”

Two 15-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a moped, public order and robbery, and have been released on bail.
