Richmond Mayor raised a Rainbow Flag outside the Council Civic Centre to mark London Pride weekend.

Cllr Ben Khosa was joined by staff from the Council’s LGBT Equality and Ally group to raise the flag and show the borough’s support for our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex (LGBTQi+) community. This was ahead of London Pride weekend - July 7.

London Pride is a festival for the whole community with events organised across London. A huge parade was be held on Saturday 7 July from 12pm setting off from Portland Place at 12pm, moving down Oxford Circus, along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Pall Mall and then passing Trafalgar Square before finishing on Whitehall.

Cllr Ben Khosa, said: “Flying the flag above the Civic Centre sends out a clear message in support of the LGBTQI+ community who live, work in or visit the borough. Together with other local authorities across the Capital, we are committed to working together to fight against discrimination and hate and promote inclusive communities.

“I hope that many people attend Pride over the weekend and show their support.”
