Once known mostly for its abundance of squirrels, Norbury Hall Park has taken a turn for the worse in recent times.
But one group is determined to bring it back to its former glory.
A call has been made for volunteers to help improve and clean-up 'Squirrel Park' this Saturday.
From 2pm, the Friends of Norbury Hall Park will band together with all willing to lend a hand to clear excess litter, prune back overgrowing bushes and freshen up park structures with a lick of paint.
Chairman of the group, Ian Clarke, said it was important to make sure parks are made to look their best.
“Norbury Hall Park is special but with a bit of care and investment, it has the potential to be spectacular," he said.
"This spruce up event is the first step in reviving this much-loved park and all help will be gratefully received.”
Croydon Council have even stepped in to lend a hand, committing to resurface paths and install new bins in the park this financial year.
So if you can spare a few minutes, meet at the park gates on Craignish Avenue from 2pm
