Two men have been charged by police after a knife was allegedly held to a baby's throat when robbers "stormed" a house in Coventry.

West Midlands Police said demands were made for cash by offenders armed with a craft knife during the raid on Monday.

Officers said cash and jewellery were stolen from the property.

Joshua Juggan, 24, from Alvey Street in Southwark and 21-year-old Malik Ragnatt, from Bensham Lane, Thornton Heath, were arrested by armed police from a vehicle stopped on the M40 at 7.50pm on Monday and were charged with robbery on Tuesday night.

Juggan and Ragnatt were set to appear before Coventry magistrates yesterday.

Two children, aged three and 10 months, were in the house at the time along with two women but no-one was hurt, police said.
