Two Sutton teenagers have been arrested after leading police on car chase.

Just after midnight on On June 13, officers began their pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle on the A22 Godstone Bypass.

Officers then managed to box the vehicle in where the three occupants (two 19-year-old men from Sutton and a 17-year-old man) were arrested for various offences including burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop.

Detective Sergeant Kerry Akehurst, said: “Every day, police officers put their lives at risk to apprehend suspects and protect the public.

"During attempts to stop the vehicle, three officers received injuries and four police vehicles sustained damage.

"The officers are suffering from severe bruising, pain and cuts but have been discharged from medical care.”

Ramone Kidd, 19, of Prince of Wales Road in Sutton, South London, has been charged with seven offences including ABH, handling of stolen goods and driving while disqualified.

Kidd has been remanded in custody, and will appear at Staines Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 14.

The other 19 and 17-year-old men have been released on conditional bail.
