It was an exciting moment for a Southfields school recently as it officially opened its new centre for the visually impaired, deaf and blind.
The £2m Isobel Centre was a welcome addition to Linden Lodge School's headteacher Deborah Rix, who said this will help transform people's lives.
"It’s fantastic," she said.
"Our dream has been to create a bespoke permanent centre with the special educational needs of children and families featured at every design stage and with the amazing support of many Trusts and sponsors and donors we have achieved this."
Professor Brian Lamb has worked with the school for four years and praised its dedication to early intervention and support programs.
"The Isobel Centre is testimony to their hard work putting children and families first and making a real difference to children’s outcomes now and in the future," he said.
"Many congratulations to Deborah Rix, the governors and trustees for pioneering the centre and realising a vision."
