The victim of an alleged sexual assault has spoken out in the hopes of catching the man and to stop him striking again.

The woman, who we have chosen not to name, told the Wimbledon Guardian that on May 24 she was on her way to her nan's home after a day at work when the alleged attack happened.

"I got on the bus from Tooting Broadway and the man got on the 57 at the same stop," she said.

"The whole way he was rubbing his leg on mine and his arm. I decided to get off because he kept looking at me as well while doing it.

"He gave me no space to pass by him so I had to rub past him."

She thought getting off the bus a few stops early at the Wimbledon Theatre would be the end of it.

But it wasn't.

"I went to work towards Wimbledon and he followed behind," she said.

"So I went back to the bus stop and he followed me back. I started walking the other way towards the YMCA and he followed, I took a right down Palmerston Road and at this point I was completely scared.

"I turned around and the man was on the corner of the road standing still staring right at me, I screamed ‘why are you following me?’ and he ran off.

"I went into the post office after and just cried it scared me so much."

She then called police who are now looking into the incident.

"Police are investigating an alleged assault which took place on a 57 bus from Tooting around 5.10pm on May 24.

"The victim reported to officers that a male on the bus sexually assaulted her by touching and then followed her off the bus into Palmerston Road, Wimbledon."

No arrests have been made and enquires continue."

The woman is asking that anyone with information come forward.

"Hopefully a picture can be got from the bus or something so his face can be shared," she said.

"If this ever happens to you please report it.

"It might help someone else in the long run."
