Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after Roehampton University graduate fell to her death in London over the bank holiday weekend.

Bethany-Maria Beales, 22, was found with ‘significant injuries’ after falling from height at the Heron building in Moor Lane on May 26.

A man and a woman, both 38, were detained by the City of London Police on May 26 and 27, having now been released on bail while an investigation continues.

In a statement, her family said: “Beth was a kind, funny, loyal, intelligent, talented and stunningly beautiful person who changed the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her and lucky enough to be loved by her.

"She was more than a daughter, grand-daughter, niece, cousin, stepsister, step-aunty, god-daughter or friend. She was the world to us all.

“She had the brightest smile and the most beautiful singing voice. She was our songbird. She had an amazing talent that, if it had been seen by the world, would have become known to millions.

“To say we will miss her does not come close to describing how we feel. Our world will never be as bright again now that our shining star has gone.”

Miss Beales' body was discovered on a sixth floor public terrace at the 36-storey residential skyscraper in the City of London.

Grieving friends have also paid moving tributes online to her, who studied drama, performance and theatre arts at Roehampton University.

The aspiring singer and actress graduated last year and, according to social media posts, was set to travel to Ibiza for the summer.

One user wrote: “You were my friend on and off stage. You were one of the first people to make me feel welcome in players [a Roehampton University student society].

“You were beautiful. You were insanely talented. Life will be so boring without your sparkle.”

Another person said: “You were the most beautiful and wonderful soul I ever had the pleasure of knowing.

“I miss texting you every day and sharing crazy stories together, I miss seeing you every few days, [and] I can’t believe I won’t have you in my life anymore.

“We had so much planned and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it, I just want to see you again.

“I miss you.”

A post-mortem examination of Ms Beales took place on May 28, and now investigators are appealing for witnesses from the public to help assist in the case.

Detective Chief Inspector Edelle Michaels, from the City of London Police, said: “We would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to Bethany’s family and friends at this difficult time and reassure them we are doing everything we can to determine the circumstances of this tragic incident.

“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have information which can assist our investigation is asked to contact police as soon as possible.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Heron building, or the vicinity, on Saturday that may have seen or heard something."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0207 601 2222.
