The owner of chip shop gutted by a huge pan fire has reason to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day this Friday.
The Major Plaice, in Ewell High Street, has been refurbished after it was on fire for nearly three hours in 2016.
Owner Ifet Butt said: "I was phoned and I came to the shop and the damage was already done.
"The neighbours all came out with their fire extinguishers.
"It was very devastating. It burnt everything in half an hour."
The restaurant, designed with safety in mind, has a five-star food hygiene rating.
Mr Butt added: "We would like to thank thank our customers for their support and loyalty.
"Why don't you come join in on National Fish and Chip Shop Day and visit us on Friday?"
