Ewell schoolboys took home bronze medals from a national fencing competition.
Glyn School fencing A team came third in the competition on May 20 after beating RGS Guildford and Colchester to reach the semi-finals of the British Schools Team Championships.
The team of Rowan Halls, Max Brooks, Max Jones and James Bowcott made a strong start against Bishop of Llandaff - a strong team with three national fencers - but were overtaken at the end to lose 36 to 45.
Although they lost, their performance was enough to secure third place in the under-15 foil event.
The school's B team, including Oliver Murray, Jake Williams, Oscar Williams and Sam French, had some close matches but did not progress to the elimination round.
And on the same day, Epsom Fencing Club team of Ben Males, Dan Thornton and Torquil McNeil competed in the Surrey Epee Team Championships and came fourth despite it being their first competition.
