The Kew Midsummer Fete is bringing back the festivities this June.

With free entry, spectators can enjoy the beloved dog show, Victorian fairground, and tug-of-war rivalry between the firefighters, rugby players, and dad team.

The fete, in Kew Green, raises funds for charities, last year hitting an impressive £100,000.

With the summer heat breaking records, thousands flocked to support this fantastic community event on Kew Green and allegedly nearly drank the Fuller’s bar dry.

Michael Glazebrook, chairman of the Kew Midsummer Fete Committee, said: “It was not only exceptionally hot at last year’s Fete but exceptionally busy.

"We were delighted that all the loyal volunteers, sponsors and supporters helped us surpass our £100,000 landmark raised over eight years.

"Now we are inspired to keep up the good work and continue supporting the local charities benefitting from this fun family day out at the heart of the community.”

Fourteen local good causes benefitted, including those caring for the elderly, food banks, charities for young people, drug addiction and mental health, caring for disabled children and the Scout group and theatre.

Attractions for June 23, 2018, include:

•Traditional Victorian Fairground – Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Flying Chair-o-planes, Merry-Go-Round and Helter Skelter.
