Hardware company Travis Perkins has opened a new branch in Beddington Lane as a way to "support our local community."

“We’ve doubled the size and range of products in branch, so local tradesmen can come to us for all their building needs," Anthony Potts of Travis Perkins Croydon said.

"We've now got a huge landscaping range, and bigger heavy-side and timber sections.

“Even though we've added loads more products, the branch is much easier to access so our customers can get what they need quickly.

"They can also buy online or order over the phone. We’re excited for our customers to enjoy the new branch.”

To mark the opening, the company donated £250 to Off the Record Youth Counselling.

Director of the Croydon service, Karen Stott, said the money will to towards building a space for young people to receive counselling.

"We are very grateful for the donation from Travis Perkins," she said.

"Off The Record offers free counselling for the young people in Croydon, Sutton and Merton and the donation will go towards work inside the building in which the young people receive counselling to keep it a warm and welcoming space for young people."
