Plans to build four new classrooms within a two-storey building in a Sutton primary school are set to be decided upon next week.

The proposals for Avenue Primary Academy, in Avenue Road, will be deliberated over by Sutton Council's planning applications committee next Wednesday (April 25).

Submitted by the Cirrus Primary Academy Trust, it also seeks to retain another building on site that has classrooms for a Key Stage 2 special educational needs (SEN) base for up to 20 children.

If approved, there will also be a covered walkway which links the school with the classrooms and three drop-off spaces within the school site.

No documents with further details are currently available, at the time of writing, while a decision on the proposals remain pending.

Update April 24: The plans are no longer due to be considered at the planning applications committee on April 25. A council spokesman said the plans have been approved under delegated authority because no objections were raised.
