A care home that provides care and support to older people living with dementia has been shortlisted for an award.

Wimbledon Beaumont Care Home, Arterberry Road in Wimbledon is run by Barchester Healthcare has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Nursing Care’ category and is one of six finalists through to the national finals.

More than 20 nominations were reviewed by judges for the ‘Best in Nursing Care’ category and the team at Wimbledon Beaumont were thrilled to go through.

General Manager, Nicolas Kee Mew said: “This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is excited to have made it through to the finals.

“Our team at Wimbledon Beaumont are passionate about providing great care to the residents at our home and I’m proud of everyone for their dedication and hard work.”

The Care Home Awards aim to establish the annual benchmark of excellence and innovation for UK care home management, operation and delivery.

The Barchester-managed home was shortlisted for one of three Barchester nominations through to the finals at the Care Home Awards which include Best Large Care Group, Best for Interior Design and Communal Spaces.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 27 and the team will face a panel of judges for the last round of judging and will discover if they have won the national awards.

Wimbledon Beaumont Care Community is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals.

The care home provides dementia care for 46 residents.
