Mother of three, Felicity Culley, 37, is running the London Marathon in honour of her police officer brother who recently died.

PC William Cook, 38, passed away in February 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

His younger sister, Felicity, took up running soon after his diagnosis and has previously taken part in the local Tadworth 10 race as part of her marathon training.

Felicity works for Epsom-based charity, The Sunnybank Trust, which supports adults with learning disabilities across North East Surrey and Sutton.

She said: “I’m really nervous about the run, but determined to do it in order to prove I can and to try and make life a little easier for others.

"I’m proud of the work we do at The Sunnybank Trust and know just how much of a difference my fundraising is going to make.

“From my own experience with William I know just how great everyone at the Royal Marsden are, and if I can raise money to help people going through cancer and their families, then it will definitely be worth it!”

She is running to raise money for both The Sunnybank Trust and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Felicity has already beaten her fundraising target of £3,000 but continues to try and raise as much as possible in order to help as many people as she can.

Donor Una wrote: “I don’t find running easy so I’m thinking how hard it must be to run a Marathon and how easy it is to make a donation.

"Knowing Will was a privilege and a pleasure. All the best to you on Marathon day, and well done for making a difference.”

Emma Westwood, another donor, wrote: “Good luck, two amazing causes! Will be rooting for you!”

The London Marathon is this Sunday, April 22.
