Karen Smith knows just what cancer can do to a person.

After all, she lost a close family member to the disease.

That's why when the 59-year-old opened her new hair and beauty salon in New Addington, she decided to give something back to those that have lost their eyebrows.

Going forward, Mrs Smith, along with her daughters Michelle Jeffree and Corina Stracey, will be offering one free microblading session per month at their shop in Milne Park East to help put a smile back on people's faces

“I love the idea that I can make someone feel a little better in themselves and give them some confidence back," she said.

“As a woman, I know that the loss of my hair or eyebrows would be devastating.

"This is not just for women though, men are also welcome."

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattoo that involves using tiny needles that make up a small blade to mimic real hair on the area treated.

People can either put themselves forward or nominate a person for the process.
