A man has been detained under the mental health act after knives were thrown at police in Sydenham.
Police were called shortly before 10pm on March 13 to reports of disturbance at a house in Highclere Street.
Officers and paramedics blocked off the road and the man was taken to a south London hospital as a precaution. Police said he was not arrested.
Eva Astreinidou was at the scene and said she saw at least seven police cars blocking off the road.
She said: “As emergency crew attended the scene, a man was restrained and held down by police officers.
“A paramedic carried out a stretcher to take away the man, who screamed loudly as this was happening.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew. We assessed a person at the scene and took them to hospital."
